River Plate 2015 FIFA World Club Cup adidas Jerseys

Copa Libertadores champions Club Atlético River Plate have released updated versions of their 2015 adidas away and third kits celebrating their upcoming FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2015 campaign.

Both feature a small Japanese flag on their center breast areas in recognition of the host country of this year’s tournament. Fan versions of the jerseys have a print of Japan in River Plate’s famed red and white with the text “El más grande de acá a Japón” (The biggest from here to Japan).

River kick off their World Club Cup run on December 16 against the winner of the quarter-final playoff between African champions TP Mazembe and a playoff between Auckland City and the soon to be crowned 2015 Japanese J. League Divsion 1 champions. A victory in the semis will most likely set up a final meeting with FC Barcelona.

A collection of three Japanese-inspired t-shirts have also been released by the Argentine powerhouse in celebration of their quest to win their second world club championship.
