Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champions for two of the last three seasons (2016 and 2018) Palmeiras dropped their 2019 home and away kits from new technical sponsor PUMA to kick off the new year.
PUMA Brasil launched the new Palmeiras kits via a video called “Verde é a cor da inveja” (Green is the color of envy) featuring rapper Rincon Sapiência and other Palmeiras players like Simoninha, Jayme Matarazzo, Gui Araújo, Maju Mazalli and Luana Maluf.
The PUMA campaign was created to celebrate one of the club’s greatest characteristics: the passion of its fans and players. The concept of the film underscores the pride of the Palmeiras fan who, according to PUMA’s vision, is a family with unique characteristics, extremely engaged, and which wants a club that is increasingly successful.
PUMA says that the campaign marks a new era, where the green color no longer symbolizes hope and arouses the feeling of envy in rivals. “The entire PUMA and Palmeiras partnership launch campaign was designed to underscore the team’s pride in the color green, which is almost the property of Palmeiras,” says Fabio Kadow, Marketing Director of PUMA Brasil.
“It’s the beginning of a new moment. We entered into this partnership with a club that is a multi-champion, with a rich history and also shows itself as a team of the future, with modernity and professionalism.”
The Palmeiras 2019 PUMA home and away kits will be worn for the first time by the club’s Under-20 team during this month’s Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. The move is in recognition of the success that Palmeiras youth sides have had in recent times.
The Palmeiras men’s senior team will debut their 2019 home uniform on January 13th duirung a friendly honoring former Verdão (Big Green), Brazil, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich player Zé Roberto.
