In an event held at Parque São Jorge, Sport Club Corinthians Paulista and Nike Brasil joined forces to promote anti-racism initiatives and launch the two-time world club champion’s 2024/25 home and away kits.
The campaign, called “”Nossa história é uma página em preto” (Our history is a black page), aims to fight racism in football. The Corinthians men’s senior football team will debut the away “blackout” uniform against Fortaleza on Saturday at Neo Química Arena.
The visual approach chosen for the Corinthians 2024/25 Nike jerseys pays homage to the rich culture of the African diaspora. The players’ names and numbers appear in a font created by designer and art director Giulia Fagundes. The typography is striking and complemented by a unique texture inspired by the Ghanaian Adinkra symbols, celebrating the team’s greatness and strength while embracing Afrofuturism.
A black and white hand painting with the inscription “Tamo Junto e Misturado” is stamped on the collars, at the neckline, symbolizing the importance of unity in the fight against racism.
The player version of the shirts incorporates the latest Nike Dri-FIT ADV technology, representing the pinnacle of Nike’s sportswear innovation. DRI-FIT ADV elevates the basic materials found in Dri-FIT, which wicks sweat away from the skin for faster evaporation, to a new level. This technology employs body mapping and athlete insights to optimize performance during the game.
The fan version of the jerseys shares the same design, but uses Dri-FIT fabric made from polyester microfibers. These microfibers wick sweat away from the skin to the surface of the fabric, where it evaporates quickly. This keeps the wearer cool and dry, even during intense workouts.
Since 2010, all Nike football kits have been made from polyester made from recycled plastic bottles. The bottles are cleaned, shredded into flakes, and then converted into microplastics, which are melted and spun into high-quality yarns. This process ensures maximum performance on the field while minimizing environmental impact.
