Stade Malherbe Caen is only one of a handful of European teams with a four match kit range for the 2015/16 season.
The Normandy club’s Nike 15/16 uniforms include a home, an away, a third and a cup strip. Each with its own distinct look.
The SM Caen 2015/16 home jersey is a blue crewneck jersey with red pinstripes. It is matched with red shorts and socks to complete the customary primary look of the team.
SM Caen’s new away shirt is purple with bright yellow accenting on its shoulders and flanks. It uses the popular polo collared Nike Challenge template.
Caen’s third kit also uses the Challenge design. It has a white base and is accented in black for a very traditional football kit look.
SM Caen surprised their fans with the introduction of a 2015/16 cup jersey ahead of last week’s Coupe de la Ligue third round liss to OGC Nice.
The third shirt from the club to use the Nike Challenge template this season is all blue with white accenting. It is expected to reappear when Caen embarks on their Coupe de France run in 2016.
All four kits have the two lions of the Normandy flag embroidered on their signoff areas. The text “NORMANDS & CONQUERANTS” (Normand and Conquerors) is embroidered on the back of their collars in a reference to the regions’s history.
One of the surprise packages of the ongoing season, SM Caen are currently in fifth place in the French Ligue 1 standings.
