Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama unveiled their 2015/16 home and away kits last week. They will replace the team’s 2014/15 uniforms (released last October) starting with Sunday’s Campeonato Brasileiro Série A meeting with Joinville EC.
The Vasco da Gama 2015/16 Umbro home and away shirts both celebrate the 450th Anniversary of Rio de Janeiro commemorative printed diamond. The light blue and white of the Rio state flag appears on the inside neck taping of each kit.
The 100th Anniversary of Vasco’s football team (the club was founded as a multi-sport organization in 1898) is celebrated by red cross on each sleeve containing the text “1915/2015: 100 ANOS DE FUTEBOL” (100 Years of Football)
For the first time ever reigning Campeonato Carioca champions will have replica and authentic versions of their kits. The replica are called “FAN” jerseys while the player issue kits are called “GAME” shirts. Both use same bespoke designs from Umbro that are based on the Vasco da Gama jerseys of the 1980s. As always, the famous Vasco sash is present on the black home and white away kits.
