Umbro Projects Spring / Summer 2020 Range

Heritage global football brand, Umbro, launches new seasonal silhouettes in its lifestyle line Umbro Projects. From Ibiza to Seoul, Umbro Projects’ colours and fabrications take inspiration from daytime to the neon glow from the clubs at night.

SS20 showcases the brand’s most contemporary silhouettes to date with a flavour of 90s nostalgia. Key catwalk trends are translated in the form of kaleidoscopic tie dye tees, cargo pants and shorts. Umbro Projects’ debut dungarees share rail space with neon leotards and crop tops. Logo detailing has been updated for SS20 featuring a new oversized font embroidered on unisex and menswear styles. Bright, printed football shirts bolster the menswear line while womenswear is expanded with the addition of utility
skirts and playsuits.

Outerwear options for SS20 include new raincoats featuring a graphic print in a neon colourway as well as printed windbreakers. Umbro Projects’ iconic shellsuits also feature for SS20 including a classic red, white and navy chevron block set.

Umbro has also unveiled its third sneaker collection featuring new silhouettes and updated palettes for SS20.

Drawing inspiration from its vast archive, Umbro’s Archive Research Project (ARP) refreshes iconic ‘90s styles referencing contemporary sneaker trends. Joining the roster for SS20, Umbro introduces the FIERA hybrid sandal-sneaker in two colourways.

Available in an all-black upper with contrast white cleated sole and an all-cream version featuring contrast black Velcro straps, the FIERA is Umbro’s most directional silhouette to date. The slick HIGHWAY sneaker also joins the ARP family featuring a perforated leather upper with suede accents and logo details. The updated style will be available in two colourways including a clean all-white and a smart black upper with contrast sole unit. Both styles feature a bright pull-tab on the heel of the sneaker.

Pastels feature across women’s styles including peaches, lilacs and mauves colourblocked on the EXERT, BUMPY, NEPTUNE and PHOENIX. Umbro galvanises the women’s offering with the addition of new metallic python print accents on selected uppers. Earthy terracotta browns and light taupe tones are presented throughout the men’scollection alongside primary brights such as reds and blues. The NEPTUNE sneaker’s phylon-injected sole unit bears a new speckle print as well as additional upper options including either black leather or a mesh fabrication.

Delivering this season’s must-have sneaker collection, Umbro’s Archive Research Project combines archive-inspired designs with up-to-the-minute tech-led constructions. With the third chapter of ARP, Umbro continues to reassert its credentials as a leader in
British sportswear while training the spotlight on forward-thinking sneaker-led design.
