Former world, South American and Brazilian champion Santos Futebol Club and Umbro Brazil, have launched the third kit for the 23/24 season, inspired by the team’s Asian adventures.
According to Umbro, the Santos FC 23/24 third jersey reflects the club’s long history of playing friendly matches and tournaments in Japan, China, South Korea and other Asian countries, where they faced different styles and cultures of football.
The shirt’s design features a carp motif, a fish that represents courage, perseverance and success in many Asian traditions. The carp is known for its ability to swim upstream and overcome obstacles, just like Santos on the pitch.
Santos’ 2023/24 third kit has a dark blue color, with lighter blue and red details that evoke waves and carp shapes. A special badge on the sleeve shows the word “Japan” in a font that resembles Japanese writing, along with the Japanese flag. The names, numbers and sponsors on the shirt also use a similar font.
The collar and cuffs have a dark blue ‘bat’ style, giving a touch of elegance to the kit. The shorts are also dark blue, with a red stripe on the side.
Umbro says that the Santos FC 23/24 third jersey celebrates a unique aspect of the club’s rich history. It shows their global influence and their special bond with Japan and other Asian countries. It is a tribute to a legacy that goes beyond borders.
