Off to a good start in the current Major League Soccer season, Los Angeles Football Club are donning their soon to be collectible inaugural jerseys for their 2018 campaign.

Their new home shirt was on show on Sunday night as the team opened their new stadium with a dramatic late winner against former MLS champions Seattle Sounders FC. This is our World Exclusive look at the LAFC 2018/19 home kit.

Design

Seven. That’s how many strangers complemented our wearer on the Los Angeles FC 2018 home jersey the first day he wore it out in public. It’s clearly an eye-catcher for soccer and non-soccer fans alike.

LAFC’s primary colors of black and gold is a clever combination that works well for any garment or shoe. The club’s home kit puts them together well with a classic black base detailed with golden adidas three stripes on its shoulders and the logo of MLS’ technical partner on it’s right breast. Golden neck taping with the text “Shoulder to Shoulder” and inside waistline lining make further use to the classy color.

Black and gold MLS patches on the sleeves and the LAFC badge on the left chest are applied using the latest technology to create a three dimensional effect. The shoulder stripes also benefit from modern garment manufacturing since they are rubberized and less likely to fade out with washings.

A series of embossed trapezoids run across the entire front of the 2018 LAFC adidas home kit. Though subtle they add a nice touch inspired by the wing on the team’s well done Crest. A jock tag on the lower left front features the wing along with the LAcentric phrases “City of Angels” and “Heart of the City”.

Fit and Feel

In a market in which soccer jersey fits vary widely for a given size, we found the Los Angeles FC 2018 adidas home kit to truly fit true to size. The club sent us a men’s size large that fit spot on.

This is particularly so for the torso area. The sleeves are on the smaller and form fitting side. As such they really show off well-built, muscular arms. The design of the shirt also accentuates the shoulders thanks, in part, to its gold stripes.
