Mainz 05 2016 Lotto “Carnival” Jersey

Mainz 05 wore their newly released 2016 Carnival jersey (Fastnachtstrikot in German) for Friday’s 1-0 win overBorussia Mönchengladbach. It is provided by the club’s technical sponsor Lotto Sport Italia.

The new shirt celebrates both the city of Mainz’ annual Carnival and with the club’s 111th Anniversary.

The kit is in the traditional red of the Mainz 05 home kit, following the main colour scheme of the home kit, but on the shoulders and seams it is white, blue and yellow. The Mainz logo is also decorated with the famous carnival hat.

The jersey’s shoulders and sleeves use a carnival-inspired set of colors that include red, white, blue and yellow. The carnival these continues though the addition of a clown hat above the Mainz 05 crest.

The digits “111” are printed on the outside upper back of the kit in white to commemorate the team’s upcoming anniversary on March 16.
