Mexico’s Querétaro Fútbol Club got on the radar of football fans worldwide when they sign Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho in 2014. Liga MX runner’s up for the Clausura 2014 season, Querétaro are celebrating their 65th Anniversary in 2015.
In celebration of this milestone, technical sponsor PUMA Mexico and Los Gallos Blancos (The White Roosters) have released a special edition commemorative jersey.
Limited to 1,950 pieces (since the team as founded in 1950), the Querétaro FC takes its design inspired from the football shirts of the 1950s. The blue-green jersey has a classic black polo collar that matches its sleeve cuffs and waistline. A vertical band in black and white runs along the middle of the shirt.
A large “Q” is stitched on the crest area of the shirt in an ode to Querétaro’s original badge. The current Querétaro crest is embossed on the right lower frontal area of the jersey.
The text “8 de julio de 1950, fecha que queda grabada en la historia del balompié mexicano; Querétaro cumple el sueño y orgullosamente se convierte en parte del profesionalismo nacional” (“July 8, 1950, a date that is etched in the history of Mexican football; Queretaro proudly fulfills the dream and becomes part of the national profession”) is printed on the inside neck of the kit.
Querétaro FC will wear their 65th Anniversary PUMA jersey during their Apertura 2015 meeting with Los Rayados de Monterrey at Estadio Corregidora later today.
