Partly owned by legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers unveiled their home and away kits for the 2015 North American Soccer League (NASL) and US Open Cup seasons earlier this week. They are furnished by new Strikers technical partner Nike.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers 2015 home jersey is in the gold and red hoops that the team first wore during the days of the old NASL in the 1970s and 80s. It uses a Nike crewneck design with a black collar. The South Floridian club will wear a 2015 away shirt that is all white with a polo collar in a nod to the white alternate kits of the Strikers teams that once features the likes of Gerd Müller, Teófilo Cubillas, Elías Figueroa George Best and Gordon Banks over thirty years ago.
The home kit have a stylized print with the letters of the city of Fort Lauderdale (FTL) on its front while the away jersey features the full city name in Italic font. The Strikes say that both celebrate their pride in the city.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers kick off their 2015 NASL season against Raul and the New York Cosmos on Saturday night.
