Among Brazil’s best-supported football clubs, CR Vasco da Gama have released their third kit since signing with Umbro in early October. The latest Vasco da Gama Umbro jersey is a 2015 limited edition shirt.
The kit uses the same Umbro template as the Vasco 2014/15 home jersey. One notable absence from the mainly white shirt is the absence of the famous Vasco da Gama sash.
The club’s storied history is celebrated with several elements of the kit. These include the text “Gigante desde 1898” (A Giant since 1898) embroidered in gold on both sleeves and eight stars above the team crest. The latter is in celebration of Vasco da Gama’s eight major titles. The badge used on the jersey is based on that used by Vasco in 1898.
Promoted back to the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A after one season in Brazil’s second division, Vasco da Gama return to action in February when they begin their Campeonato Carioca (Rio de Janeiro State Championship) run.
