Video: Beckham Returns. L.A. Galaxy 3 – New York Red Bulls 1 (Major League Soccer Highlights)

David Beckham returned to MLS action as a starter for the L.A. Galaxy last night as they thumped the New York Red Bulls 3-1. First half goals from Alecko Eskandarian, team captain Landon Donovan and veteran Eddie Lewis gave the Galaxy an insurmountable lead. Former Aston Villa man Juan Pablo Angel notched a late penalty for New York in the 87th minute.

Beckham was effective with his one touch crosses during his 70 minutes on the pitch. However, he appeared to lack match fitness and did not create any bonafide chances of L.A. He was replaced by the very impressive English-born, Trinidad and Tobago international Chris Birchall with the Galaxy up 3-0.
