Philadelphia Union 2024/25 adidas Home Jersey
The Philadelphia Union has unveiled its 2024/25 “XV” adidas home jersey, marking the triumphant return of the iconic center stripe, which made its debut on the club’s inaugural kit for the 2010 MLS season.
Shaun Kreider, Philadelphia Union Senior Creative Director, expressed the excitement among Union fans for the return of the center stripe. He emphasized that with the club approaching its landmark 15th season in 2024, it was fitting to revisit the classic design with a modern interpretation.
Drawing inspiration from the trusses of the Commodore Barry bridge, which serves as a picturesque backdrop to Subaru Park, the XV jersey serves as a symbolic bridge connecting the Union’s past to the present. It also reflects the club’s commitment to bridging the gap between fans and the team through initiatives such as the Union Creative Collective.
Established in 2019, the Union Creative Collective (UCC) comprises season ticket holders, Sons of Ben members, devoted Union fans, media representatives, and Union employees.
For the 2024 “XV” kit, the UCC collaborated with the Union and Adidas to create a modernized and distinctive take on the center stripe. The group opted to incorporate the Union’s signature blue color into the stripe, mirroring the club’s and the league’s evolution and growth over the past 15 seasons.
The shapes that form the central design mimic the Union’s typical on-field formation, and the jagged band can be interpreted as a snake, a river, or a lightning bolt, all symbols that have been integral to the Union’s branding and narrative.
