Currently preparing for another run at promotion from the English Football League Championship to the Premier League, Aston Villa Football Club have launched their 2018/19 home and away kits from new team outfitted Luke 1977. The shirts will be manufactured by sportswear retailer Fanatics as part of a three party partnership.
According to The Villans:
Our latest home jersey features the more traditional claret colour – and there’s further strong nods to the past with William McGregor featuring on the back collar while the collar and cuff carry 12 stripes – signifying the founding members of the Football League.
Our away jersey is a club classic with a modern twist, taking elements of the white strip that was donned on the night of our glorious European Cup victory of 1982.
Aligning with the home shirt, McGregor and the 12 founding members are represented on the away jersey, as well as prominent claret rims on the sleeves and collar.
The current club of 2018 FIFA World Cup players Birkir Bjarnason (Iceland), Mile Jedinak (Australia) and Ahmed Elmohamady (Egypt), Aston Villa kick off their 2018/19 season at Hull City on August 6th.
