Among the applicants to become Major League Soccer’s 25th or 26th franchise, Phoenix Rising Football Club will campaign in the United Soccer League (USL) during the 2017 season.
Rebranded from Arizona United SC to Phoenix Rising FC last November, the club has unveiled its 2017 home and away kits from Umbro USA. Both shirts use a new design from Umbro in which the collar and placket combine to form a Y-shape.
Tonal horizontal stripes run along the most of fronts of the red primary and white away jerseys. The break at the upper left and lower right to reveal solid triangle-shaped areas.
In an innovative move, the logo of Phoenix Rising’s shirt sponsor, producer Diplo’s Mad Decent record label Mad Decent, is printed at a diagonal angle on the right side of the kits. Diplo and rock group Fall Out Boy’s bassist Pete Wentz are part of the Rising’s ownership group.
