Making waves in the eyewear scene over the past couple of years, Aspire has dropped their 2017 collection. We’re taking a look at a couple of standout products from the range in our latest edition of Off the Pitch Style.
What’s Behind the Scenes with Aspire Frames?
Aspire frames use some of the latest advances in eyewear material technology to create extremely lightweight (and therefore comfortable) and durable frames. Unlike plastic or metal-based frames they a extremely pliable and can be bent to almost 90 degrees. This results in frames that can take a beating while standing out with some extremely trendy looks.
Here’s more details from Aspire on their frames:
Offering a “barely there” feel and fit, while including features that enhance comfort, wearability and adjustability, Aspire Eyewear gives today’s individualized consumers a fashionable eyewear statement that’s on trend in every sense. Designs that transcend the ordinary.
Aspire Eyewear is created with SDN-4, a specially designed nylon material proprietary to the brand. Designed for the manufacture of extremely lightweight eyewear with exceptional thinness, the hypoallergenic SDN-4 material is incredibly strong and durable, offering shape memory, heat resistance, and will not fade in UV exposure. Using customized SDN-4 sheet material, Aspire frames are not injected, but created with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery to produce unique shapes and endless color possibilities.
The entire Aspire collection was designed using 3D technology, significantly reducing prototype development from 20 weeks to 60 minutes in most cases. Using this innovative technology in its design process will allow the brand to quickly respond to emerging eyewear and experiment with inventive design options.
The Aspire Anonymous Sunglasses
Based on timeless and classic aviators the Aspire Anonymous sunglasses belong on the streets, beaches and even clubs of South Beach. They’ve got a full of swagger design that can make the wearer look like a rock star or hip hop mogul whether its worn with board shorts, jeans and a t-shirt, business casual attire, or even a suit. Every guy on the team at Football Fashion who wore them claimed to turn heads when rocking them.
The Anonymous goes beyond the aviator wired look by basing its frame on Aspire’s SDN-4 for a more full-bodied look. The front of the frames are in black and contrast well (but not too much) with blue mirrored lens. The temples of the sunglasses are in a novel clear lightweight plastic material that gives these shades to a level of boldness that is hard to find in eyewear nowadays.
The Aspire Influential Glasses Frames
The Aspire Influential’s design puts a new spin on the enduring wayfarer frame by melding the firm’s lightweight material with slightly oversized templates and an Argyle print.
There is an abundance of wayfarer / nerd / 60s-inspired frames on the market right now. They are all heavy compared to wire frames given the amount of plastic that they use. This often results in them leaving sometimes uncomfortable indentations on the nose bridge and sides of the head after extended use. The Aspire Influential solves these problems with its “barely there” feel. Our testers reported that they can wear these frames from dusk to dawn without any issues whatsoever.
The Influential’s subtle brown Argyle pattern isn’t something usually seen on eyewear. Nevertheless it works brilliantly to create a very stylish look that impressed everyone via its innovative yet classic nature. Throw the frames relatively wide temples and the Influential becomes a piece of eyewear that will quickly have the compliments rolling in when you wear them to work in the early part of 2017.
Aspire Eyewear impresses for the second year in a row and remains a game changer. Their eyewear is definitely a favorite within our team thanks to their stellar designs and extreme comfort!
