Cruzeiro Esporte Clube debuted their 2016/17 Umbro third kit during Sunday’s 2-2 Campeonato Brasileiro draw with Santos FC.
The latest Cruzeiro jersey celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the Belo Horizonte-based club’s 1966 Brazilian league championship – the first of their now four Séria A titles.
The blue Cruzeiro 16/17 third outfield player shirt is inspired by the team’s home kit of 1966. The fabric of the shirt is dyed to produce the look of the cotton football shirts worn during the 1960s.
Umbro Brasil has used retro logos of the jersey to maintain the retro look. A pennant containing “1966” is embroidered on the signoff area of the shirt while a print of the Campeonato Brasileiro trophy appears on the lower left of the kit’s front.
A yellow goalkeeper kit inspired by the one worn my Cruzeiro legend Raul Plassmann accompanies the third kit.
