Among Argentina’s most popular clubs, Estudiantes de La Plata have completed their 2016 Umbro match range with the release of their latest away kit.
The well-crafted shirt joins Los Pincharratas (The Rat Stabbers) previously released 2016 home and third jerseys in their playing collection for this year’s Primera División and Copa Sudamericana campaigns.
The Estudiantes de La Plata 2016 away kit uses a bespoke design from Umbro Argentina. It has a red base with a clever series tonal horizontal stripes on its front. The stripes are broken from the center of the kit and downwards. Gold detailing runs along the shirt’s flanks, shoulders and sleeve cuffs. The trim of its rounded collar is also gold.
The neckline of the Estudiantes 2016 alternate kit features the years in which the club won its four Copa Libertadores championships (1968, 1969, 1970, 2009) separated by Umbro diamonds. #ElSueñoHaceRealidad” (The Dream Has Come True) is printed in white below the neck taping. Now a fixture on all of Estudiantes de La Plata’s kits, a heatstamp of “Campéon del Mundo” (Champion of the World) appears on the change kit’s lower back. It celebrates Estudiantes’ 1968 Intercontinental Cup title.
