Estudiantes de La Plata 2016 Umbro Home and Third Kits
Primera División club Estudiantes de La Plata switched match outfitters from adidas to Umbro during the Argentine off-season.
The four-time Copa Liberatores champions have since debuted their 2016 home and third kits during Torneos de Verano (Summer Tournaments) action.
The Estudiantes 2016 home jersey is in the team’s traditional red and white vertical stripes. It uses a bespoke Umbro design featuring a modern v-neck with a black insert that continues into a collar. The sleeve cuffs on the shirt are also black.
The inside neck taping of the new “Pincharratas” (Rat Stabbers) home kit contains the years of the club’s for South American titles along with Umbro’s famous diamonds. “#ElSueñoHaceRealidad” (The Dream Has Come True) is printed on the shirt’s inside neck area in gray while “Campéon del Mundo” (Champion of the World) is heatstamped on its lower back area. The latter is in recognition of Estudiantes’ 1968 Intercontinental Cup win over a Manchester United side featuring the likes of Bobby Charlton and George Best.
The Estudiantes de la Plata 2016 Umbro third shirt is mainly black with red stitching. It uses a simple crew neck design. A subtle camouflage pattern appears on its upper chest. The jersey is matched with black shorts and socks.
