Uruguayan Primera División standing leaders Club Nacional de Football are have released three 2015/16 kits to date from Umbro.
The collection includes a home kit in Nacional’s traditional cream, a red away shirt and the 2015 version of the team’s annual “Celeste” jersey. All three kits use bespoke designs from Umbro Uruguay.
The Club Nacional 2015/16 home kit has a classic football shirt look with a ribbed v-neck collar in the red, white and blue of the team’s crest. Its sleeves cuffs use the same color scheme. A series of horizontal pinstripes run across the jersey. The text “DECANO” (Dean”) is printed on the back of the kit above an image of Nacional’s international trophies won and the text “EL PRIMERO Y EL MAS GRANDE” (“The First and Biggest”).
The Club Nacional 15/16 away shirt is a mainly red with a standing collar in blue and white. The “Celeste” kit is in the sky blue of the Uruguay national team with a polo collar and y-neck placket. The shirt celebrates the first ever international match played by a Uruguay national team.
The 3-2 over Argentina is of significance to Nacional since players from then seventeen year old team made up the Uruguayan side. A print of the Uruguay national flag above the text “SOMOS URUGUAY” (“We are Uruguay”) and the match score appears in the signoff area of the jersey.
Primera División champions forty five times, Club Nacional has also won three Copa Libertadores and three Intercontinental Cup (the predecessor to the FIFA Club World Cup) titles.
