adidas Originals X Beckenbauer 2015 Retro Pack

adidas Originals has released a Fall / Winter 2015 collection in honor of Germany, Bayern Munich and New York Cosmos legendary defender Franz Beckenbauer.

According to adidas Deutschland: He is a football icon, a trendsetter and authentic like no other: Franz Beckenbauer is the only true Kaiser (Emperor).

With the “adidas Originals X Beckenbauer Pack”,  the brand with the three stripes is celebrating Beckenbauer’a 70th birthday with a unique collection that was inspired by his most important sporting and personal life stations in autumn at Bayern Munich, New York Cosmos and with the German football team.

The products combine the sporting heritage of the adidas brand with a modern streetwear look. The legendary Beckenbauer Tracksuit 1967 was the first piece of clothing that adidas ever produced and plays a central role in the “adidas Originals X Beckenbauer Pack”. Thanks to its original design it is the centerpiece of the collection.

Retro football shirts based on the 1974 West Germany home kit and the 1990 Germany home jersey are also part of the range. They are included in recognition of Beckenbauer captaining his country to the World Cup title in 1974 and being the manager when they won it in 1990.

An old school jersey based on the green mid-1970s New York Cosmos away jersey worn by Der Kaiser and fellow legends such as Pele, Carlos Alberto and Giorgio Chinaglia is the third jersey in the range.

The collection also includes 1960s and 1970s-inspired trainers, t-shirts and track jackets. The full range will be available this autumn at World Soccer Shop and Kitbag.
