Bakline Rugby Spring 2012 Collection
Whether you are a seasoned rugby fan or a new fan following the excitement of the recently concluded 2011 Rugby World Cup, Bakline Rugby is an exciting new brand worth checking out.
The New York-based firm offers some of the most innovatively designed rugby-inspired products on the market today. They were even recently featured on MTV’s popular program Made. Here is a world exclusive up-close look at some of Bakline’s Spring 2012 collection. They are now all available for purchase at World Rugby Shop.
“Less War. More Rugby.” T- Shirt
This is one of our favorites from Bakline. The “Less War. More Rugby.” T-shirt conveys a simply, yet profound message for fans of the USA Eagles national rugby team and others who believe in the power of the oval ball instead of weapons.
The tee is fitted and made of comfortable combed cotton. It’s a perfect top for the gym, pub or a pick-up game as long as you’re in warmer temperatures.
Actually much more than a tee, the 80:00 Performance top is ideal for training for just about any sport (rugby and soccer included). It’s made of a comfortable polyester mesh that wicks sweat rapidly and is fitted for the wearer to show off his or her hard earned physique.
The 80:00 Performance Tee is highlighted by “80:00” print (the length of a rugby match) on its front and its back to show that it is about rugby and that the person wearing it is a rugby player.
A yellow card in rugby earns a player ten minutes on the bench or “Sin Bin” for his or her offence. Since its sounds so cool, why not celebrate it with oversized ”SIN BIN” text on a subtle yellow combed cotton, fitted tee? Enter the Bakline Sin Bin t-shirt!
Definitely an eye-catcher, this tee is lightweight and soft to the touch. Thus we thought it would be ideal for a winter break somewhere warm. Definitely a must if you’re fortunate enough to catch some IRB Sevens action in Australia, Dubai or South Africa over the next few weeks.
To the untrained eye, the Bakline Identity of Rugby t-shirt appears to feature a large fingerprint with colored smears on its front. To a rugby fan or player, it is clearly a lightly disguised rugby ball. Either way, it looks as cool as its name and is sure to strike up conversation if you run into another rugby enthusiast.
As it many of Bakline’s other tees, the Identity of Rugby shirt is 100% lightweight, comfortable combed cotton.
Made of a cotton / polyester / rayon blend, the Bakline Fifteen tee may just be one of the lightest t-shirts ever. Soft to the touch and on the skin, it’s ideal for any casual warm weather activity or indoor training in cooler temperatures.
Comfort aside, the Fifteen tee rocks the number of players representing a rugby team on the field at any time in the languages of some of the world’s most successful rugby nations — English, Italian, French and Afrikaans — in a distinctive lowercase font.
Rugby scrums start with the referee somewhat politely stating “Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage.” It is always nice to hear and is certainly worthy of a well-done t-shirt such as the Bakline Engage tee. However, the Bakline team did much more than create just any t-shirt with the Engage. Glossy, large letters in a neo-1980s style will make this top standout anywhere and have the unversed Googling “Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage.” The rest of us will appreciate its message.

Founded in 1929, the New York Rugby Club is the oldest in the USA and is amongst the most respected in the country. The Bakline New York Rugby Club Polo is just one of the company’s items tied to the game in NYC. It is also a great piece of clothing for rugby lovers to wear in situations that require something a little more dress up that t-shirts and jerseys such as a business casual office.
