Copa del Rey champions Sevilla came from a goal down to beat an unrecognizable FC Barcelona 3-1 in the first leg of the Spanish Supercup on Saturday.
The teams will meet at the Barca’s Camp Nou next weekend in the return leg of the annual home and away series between the previous season’s Copa del Rey and Spanish La Liga winners.
Supposedly want away striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic put Barcelona ahead in the 21st minute on a tap in from Maxwell’s pass. However, the hosts scored three unanswered goals courtesy of Luis Fabiano in the 63rd and substitute Frederic Kanoute in the 73rd and 82nd minutes to secure the home win.
All eight of Barcelona’s Spain internationals were rested following their midweek game in Mexico while Argentina striker Lionel Messi did not enter the game until he replaced Ibrahimovic in the 53rd.
