United had already qualified for the Round of 16 of the tournament. Wolfsburg will now enter the Europa league as a result of their loss.

A fit again Cristiano Ronaldo showed fine form as he scored two of his side’s goals in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win at Olympique de Marseille. With the brace, Ronaldo takes his tally in this year’s competition to six.

Finally, in the biggest matchup of the final match day of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, Bayern Munich thumped Juventus 4-1 to consign the Italian giants to the Europa League.
