Brazil’s Santos Futebol Clube has revealed its 2022/23 home and away kits from Umbro. The shirts celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the popular club’s 1962 Intercontinental Cup (now the FIFA World Club Cup) title.
The new Santos FC jerseys are in the club’s traditional home white and away black and white stripes. They use bespoke designs from Umbro Brasil with the primary shirt carrying a polo collared throwback look. The alternate kit features a modern rounded collar with a v-opening at its front.
The Santos 22/23 home jersey has the text “Rio de Janeiro – Brasil e Lisboa – Portugal” on its side in recognition of the cities in which the two legs of the 1962 Intercontinental Cup Final were played. The dates of the matches appear on the collar.
The dates of the legs, locations and final scores are repeated within the black stripes of the away shirt.
A retro-styled graphic commemorating the first of Santos’ back to back world club championships is printed on the inside neckline of both kits.
