Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña released their 2020/21 Macron home kit on June 27th. The date marks the 25th Anniversary of the now LaLiga 2 club’s 1995 Copa del Rey title.
The jersey’s design is based on that of the shirt worn by the “Súper Depor” team of the nineties that won the 1995 Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup while finishing in second place in La Liga in 1994 and 1995.
Like the its mid-1990s inspiration, the Deportivo de La Coruña 20/21 home kit’s blue and white stripes end in the chest area to form a T-shape.
The cup success of 1995 is celebrated by a silhouette of the Copa del Rey along with the text “PEL 05” on the outside upper back. “CAMPIÓNS 1995 RC DEPORTIVO A CORUÑA 1906” (with each word separated by an image of the Copa del Rey) appears on the inside waistline. “25 aniversario. Campións Copa do Rei 1995” is printed below the Deportivo de La Coruña crest.
Modeled by 1994/95 Deportivo de La Coruña players Alfredo Santaelena and Javier Manjarín for its launch, the new shirt is matched with blue short and socks to fully recreate the mid-1990s look of the team.
