England captain Wayne Rooney is expected to earn his 100th cap for England on Sunday when the Three Lions meet Slovenia on November 15th in a UEFA EURO 2016 qualifier. Rooney’s sponsor Nike has given the player a customized pair of his favored Hypervenom football boots to celebrate the achievement.
The Manchester United striker unveiled the boot via social media on Thursday with a series of pictures. On Instagram Rooney wrote:
“Never prouder than representing my country. Looking forward to my 100th cap on Saturday. Thanks to @nikefootball for the new boots! #hypervenom”.
The commemorative Hypervenoms feature a black print of the 100″ on their outsteps along with an image of the England flag with “WR” next to them.
A fixture in the England senior men’s team since 2003, Rooney has scored 43 goals for his country and has appeared in three FIFA World Cups.
