PUMA have launched a special edition of their legendary King football boot in collaboration with acclaimed English fashion designer Alexander McQueen.
Handmade in Italy using a combination of modern and traditional boot manufacturing techniques, the Alexander McQueen PUMA King will be limited to just seventy pairs that will be distributed to select PUMA partners. It is made of premium Italian leather and uses a classic King design to produce a retro feel reminiscent of the days when legends like Pele and Eusebio graced soccer pitches in early versions of the shoe.

All of the PUMA Alexander McQueen limited edition King boots are individually numbered and shipped in plastic presentation cases. They will not be available for purchase by the general public nor do we expect to see them worn by professional players on the pitch.
Below is a captivating four and a half-minute long video from PUMA showing the craftsmanship involved in making the boots at a factory in Italy.
First released in 1968, the PUMA King remains popular to this day among world class and amateur players alike. The latest version of the shoe hit the market in early 2013 and has been worn by the likes of Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and French legend Thierry Henry.
