Bosnia and Herzegovina will wear adidas kits for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brasil after the country’s football federation signed a deal with the German-based sportswear giant that starts on June 1st.
According to adidas: adidas is delighted to announce a long-term partnership with the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The deal commences from June 1st 2014 and will see Bosnia and Herzegovina wearing new adidas kits during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™, where the team will make its first major tournament appearance as an independent nation.
adidas plans to work closely with the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to leverage the growing international appeal of the team. Highly regarded as an up-and-coming nation in world football, Bosnia and Herzegovina recently rose to 17th in the FIFA World Rankings after winning its 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ qualifying group ahead of Greece.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will wear the new kits for the first time on June 3rd in Chicago when the team take on fellow adidas federation Mexico in a friendly match, while the kits will go on sale two days earlier on June 1st.
adidas already possesses close links with Bosnian football, with existing partnership deals with high profile Bosnian players including: Edin Džeko of Manchester City; Miralem Pjanić of Roma and national team captain Emir Spahić of Bayer Leverkusen.
Team vice-captain Džeko said: “I’m excited that adidas has partnered with our national team. adidas always produce great boots for me that deliver top performance, so I’m looking forward to seeing and wearing the new kits. I hope they inspire us to a great performance this summer in Brazil.”
