Cruz Azul 2013/14 Umbro Pink Jersey

Popular Liga MX side Cruz Azul have launched a special edition pink 2013/14 Umbro jersey for its female fans. It is expected to be available at World Soccer Shop and Tienda Fútbol Mundial.

The new La Máquina’s (The Machine) shirt uses a new Umbro design that is different from the club’s 13/14 home and away kits released in July.

Modeled by the wives of several of Cruz Azul’s players, the pink jersey shows the club’s support for breast cancer prevention and treatment. Fellow Mexican Primera club Santos Laguna has also launched a pink kit as part of PUMA’s 2013 Project Pink program.

Professional sports leagues in North America such as MLS and NFL usually see teams wearing pink gear during the month of October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
