PUMA served up a musical surprise for the Borussia Dortmund players today to demonstrate their pride for the 2013 UEFA Champions League™ finalists. A team of 30 musicians, singers and dancers were waiting in disguise to put a smile back on the faces of the team as they arrived at London Stansted airport to return home. Upon entering the terminal, a rousing rendition of Movin’ On Up by Primal Scream erupted into a choreographed flashmob.
The players were taken completely by surprise as the impromptu song kicked off around them, acknowledging Borussia Dortmund’s thriling performances in Europe’s most prestigious football competition this season.
Marco Reus said, “We got to the airport exhausted, still very emotional from the night before. We had no idea this was coming, when one guy stood up and started making some strange noises with his mouth we thought he was crazy. But we realised it was an arranged thing for us, and were overwhelmed! We were so disappointed not to win at Wembley last night and finish this incredible season on a high, but this definitely reminded us that we should not be too down and we have still done well. Our thanks go to PUMA for arranging this nice surprise.”
Terence Parris, Head of Marketing Teamsport at PUMA, said, “We are so proud of Borussia Dortmund for the way they have played this season. Their commitment to playing thrilling football, entertaining the world as they reached the Champions League final, was really special. We wanted to arrange something fun that demonstrated our support and delight in their incredible performances this year, and remind them that they are very much Champions in the eyes of both us and the BVB fans.”
