Seen for the first time during Cesc FÃ bregas’ unveiling as a PUMA athlete and worn by the FC Barcelona player during Saturday’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla, the PUMA PowerCat 1.12 soccer boot has been officially launched. It is now available at the World Soccer Shop PUMA store.
According to PUMA:
The evolution of pitch power makes its debut with the PowerCat 1.12. It has everything you need for penalty and corner kicks, and the sweetest of defensive plays. It features the new PUMA 3D Power Shooting Technology DUO, located in the boot’s kicking area.
It increases kicking power and offers improved grip to the ball through its exposed elements. The PUMA 3D PST DUO technology device is made of an innovative thermoplastic material used in two different degrees of hardness.
The high density middle bars have the advantage of being highly responsive whereas the surrounding low density material has extremely high rebound properties. Thus the PUMA 3D PST DUO does not absorb energy upon ball impact and instead it increases kicking power.
The kicking area employs a soft K-Leather while the lightweight microfiber material in the lateral quarter supports the midfoot, helps to keep the weight down, and creates a sporty look. The lacing system starts as symmetrical and runs down slightly off-centered to increase the kicking area for the PUMA 3D PST DUO.
Thus it improves pressure distribution on the vamp and reduces forces from ball impact. Rounding out this one-two punch of engineering and comfort is the PUMA PowerLast, coupled with the stable yet flexible outsole, to create a snug, comfy fit while the asymmetrical external TPU-injected heel counter provides optimal support, stability, and protection against outer forces.
In addition to Cesc Fabregas, the PowerCat 1.12 will be worn by a number of other international PUMA players including Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic, and Juventus stars Gianluigi Buffon and Giorgio Chiellini.
