Manchester United dominated play in their 2-0 win over Schalke 04 in the teams’ UEFA Champions League semi-final meeting in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Tuesday.
After being held scoreless for 67 minutes by the heroics of Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, veteran Ryan Giggs put United ahead on an assist from Wayne Rooney. Three minutes later Javier Hernandez set Rooney up for a goal of his own to seal the win for the English Premier League title favorites.
The teams meet again on May 4th with the winner of the series meeting the winner of the FC Barcelona – Real Madrid semi-finals in the final of Europe’s club championship.
