Regional heavyweights Australia and the Korea Republic battled to a 1-1 draw in their group stage AFC Asian Cup 2011 meeting in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
South Korea’s Koo Ja-cheol scored his third goal of the tournament in the 24th minute on a pass in the area from striker Ji Dong Won. Australia equalized in the 62nd when Mile Jedinak headed in captain Lucas Neil’s chip from the side of the penalty box.
The teams are now sit atop tournament Group C on four points each heading into the last round of matches.
