Club Atlético Independiente ranks as one of Argentina’s most popular and successful soccer teams. Nicknamed El Rojo (The Red), Independiente has won 14 Argentine championships (placing them third behind to River Plate and Boca Juniors), 7 Copa Libertadores titles, and a total of 15 international titles – including 3 Copa Interamericanas and the 1973 and 1984 editions of the Intercontinental Cup. The club has featured a host of South American stars over the years including Gabriel Milito, Esteban Cambiasso and Diego Forlán.
Last night Club Atlético Independiente officially launched its Puma 2010/11 home and away kits. Current CAI players Pato Rodríguez and Fernando Godoy were on hand to show off the new jerseys while model Luli Fernández played host to the event.
