adidas has unveiled the Mexico home jersey for El Tri’s run at CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019 and for the 2019/20 international soccer season.
It is the first predominantly black Mexican primary kit since the team’s 2015/16 home shirt.
Slated to be worn during upcoming friendlies against Chile and Paraguay, the Mexico 2019 Gold Cup home shirt will be on sale at World Soccer Shop, UK Soccer Shop, Lovell Soccer, Pro:Direct Soccer, Subside Sports and Kitbag.
The latest El Tri primary jersey takes its design inspiration from the graphics featured on the adidas Azteca ball used a FIFA World Cup 1986 México.
A series of graphics based on those of Aztec Empire artwork appear on the front of the kit. Its back is entirely black. The adidas shoulder stripes and logo on the shirt are all white.
Additional elements of Mexican pride include the green, white and red of the country’s national flag on the sleeve cuffs and the fact that the jersey is made in Mexico.
