Brazilian giants Sport Club Corinthians Paulista unveiled their 2017/18 Nike home and away kits ahead of Sunday’s Campeonato Paulista semi-final meeting with São Paulo FC.
Worn during their draw with SPFC, the Timão (Big Team) 2017/18 home kit pays homage to the club’s patron saint, St. George. It is in Corinthians’ traditional white with black detailing. A black vertical stripe runs down its front middle area in to the spear of that St. George used for slaying dragons. The 17/18 Corinthians home uniform is completed with black shorts and white socks.
The black Corinthians 2017/18 Nike away shirt is highlighted by the white vertical stripes that taper towards the waistline in reference to St. George’s spear. The inscription “13.10.1977” is printed in the inside neckline to mark the fortieth anniversary of Corinthians breaking a run of 23 years without silverware by winning the Paulistão.
The font used for the player name lettering and numbers on the back of the Corinthians 2017/18 Nike home and away kits are based on that used for the team’s 1977 jerseys.
