Aberdeen Football Club recently released their adidas home kit for their 2016/17 Scottish Premier League, domestic cup and UEFA Europa League seasons. It is now on sale at UK Soccer Shop.
The Dons latest first choice shirt is in their traditional red with white detailing. The 16/17 edition of the jersey uses a series of pinstripes on its front that are inspired by those worn on the Aberdeen FC when they famously defeated Real Madrid 2-1 on May 11, 1983 to claim the European Cup Winners’ Cup. They were managed by future Manchester United boss Alex Furguson at the time.
The classic look of the Aberdeen 2016/17 adidas home kit is maintained through the use of a retro-feel polo collar and two buttoned placket. adidas’ three stripes run along the shoulder of the jersey and the sides of the accompanying shorts. Red socks with white hoops and adidas stripes towards their tops complete the new uniform.
SPL champions on four occasions, Aberdeen FC have placed second behind Celtic FC in Scotland’s top tier of soccer for the last two seasons.
