adidas Messi Ballon d’Or 2012 Commemorative Boots

Argentina and FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi won his fourth consecutive FIFA Ballon d’Or award earlier this week. In celebration of a feat that no other player in the history of the soccer has achieved, adidas has launched a special edition of its f50 footie boot recognizing Messi’s accomplishment.

The all black boot is accented by a golden Messi logo and adidas stripes along with four golden suns containing the years of Messi’s Ballon d’Or honors – 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The suns are most likely inspired by that at the center of the Argentina flag. Finally, the one piece heel counter / soleplate of the boot is also colored gold.

Messi may debut the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2012 f50s when FC Barcelona meets Málaga in Spanish La Liga action on Sunday, January 13th, 2013.
