Video: Real Madrid 1 –FC Barcelona 2 (Copa del Rey Highlights)

FC Barcelona rallied  from a goal down to beat Real Madrid 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night. The scoreline in the Copa del Rey quarter-final sees Barca head into the second leg of the affair at the Camp Nou on January 25th with a significant advantage over their fiercest rivals.

Cristiano Ronaldo had put the hosts up in the 11th before Carles Puyol stormed into the box to head in the equalizer in the 49th. Fullback Abidal scored a rare goal to give the Catalans the win when he slipped past the Madrid defence to slot Lionel Messi’s pass past goalie Pinto.

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 3-1 at the Bernabeu on December 10th but currently trail Jose Mourinho’s team by five points in the battle for the 2011/12 Spanish La Liga title. Real defeated Barca in the final of last season’s Copa del Rey to win their first title under Mourinho.
