Video: Copa Centroamericana 2011 Semi-Final Highlights. Costa Rica & Honduras Advance to Final.

Costa Rica and Honduras advanced to the final of the 2011 Copa Centroamericana on Friday night with wins over hosts Panama and El Salvador respectively. The teams meet on Sunday in a rematch of their 1-1 group stage meeting.

Costa Rica and Panama played to an entertaining 1-1 draw that that saw Los Ticos shock the hosts by going up 1-0 on a sublime Celso Borges free kick in the 67th. Panama responded with a Blas Perez goal in the 76th. However, Felipe Balloy’s penalty kick miss in the shootout that ensued saw the Costa Ricans book a spot in the final.

In the other semi-final matchup of the night, El Salvador were made to pay for a slew of missed opportunities when Johnny Leveron headed in a corner kick to put Honduras up 1-0 in the 78th. Martin Chavez sealed the 2-0 win for the Honduras with a tap in following a counter attack in the 93rd minute.
