Toronto FC Aron Winter Presentation

Toronto FC has presented former Netherlands, Lazio, Inter Milan and Ajax midfielder Aron Winter as it new manager. Winter joins the Canada’s first Major League Soccer franchise in what would be his first managerial job.

Though among the best-supported MLS teams, TFC has failed to make the league’s post-season playoff for all four years of its existence. The club recently hired former Germany coach Jürgen Klinsmann as a consultant.

Surinam-born Winter represented the Netherlands on occasions. He was a member of the Dutch sides that went to the quarter-finals of the 1994 World Cup, the semi-finals of the 1998 World Cup, the final of EURO 2000 and that won EURO 1988. He retired from soccer in 2003.
