Video: New York Red Bulls 2 – L.A. Galaxy 0 (MLS Highlights). Beckham plays full match.

David Beckham returned to the L.A. Galaxy’s starting lineup in the team’s 0-2 loss to the visiting New York Red Bulls on Friday night.

In a match featuring MLS marquee players Beckham, Landon Donovan, Juan Pablo Angel and Rafa Marquez, diminutive Jamaican international midfielder scored for New York in the 36th minute and was brought down for a penalty in the 57th. The latter was duly converted by Angel to secure the win for New York.

The result sees New York ascend to first place in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference while the Galaxy remains in first position in the West pending the results of this weekend’s matches.
