Following April’s launch of its new away kit, Dutch Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar has unveiled its Quick home kit for the 2010/11 season.
The AZ 10/11 home kit was used for the first time on Friday night in a pre-season 8-2 win over amateur club vv Strijen.
AZ signed a three-year deal with Quick last year for the Dutch company to become the club’s kit and training gear provider.
Quick was founded in 1905 in Hengelo, Gelderland. It provided the official running shoes for the Olympic Games of 1928 in Amsterdam and became famous for its football boots. Quick expanded in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, but declined in the 1980s and stopped production in 1992.
Quick was relaunched in 2001 with emphasis now on retro sneakers and apparel. Many of the firm’s designs from before 1992 have returned to production.
