A depleted FC Barcelona suffered a rare home loss to Sevilla by a score of 1-2 at the Camp Nou while Valencia fell to Deportivo La Coruna by the same scoreline at the fabled Estadio Mestalla.

The return legs of the Copa del Rey Round of 16 will be played on January 12th, 2010.
