FC Barcelona demolished upstarts Malaga 6-0 yesterday in the Spanish La Liga.
Modest Malaga have mounted a decent challenge for European football this season but they were brought back down to Earth by a rampant Barcelona side at the Camp Nou.
Xavi started the scoring after 19 minutes. This was followed by yet anoter Lionel Messi wonder goal in the 25th before Thierry Henry scored his 21st for the season before half-time to make it 3-0.
Barca’s leading scorer, Samuel Eto’o scored twice early in the second half (43th and 57th). Daniel Alves got the Catalans’ other goal in the 51st.
The result leaves FC Barcelona with a 6-point lead over arch-rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga table.
