Four-time MLS Cup champions D.C. United today revealed a totally new look away jersey for their 2017 and 2018 league and US Open Cup seasons.
The well-supported club from the capital of the USA will return to action in March in a secondary jersey that introduces a new henley collared adidas shirt design to the soccer world. The shirt will be available at World Soccer Shop, Kitbag and UK Soccer Shop MLS sections.
The DC United 2017 adidas away kit has a white base with a series of symmetrical shapes that emulate the wings of the eagle on the club crest on its chest. The shapes lighten in color from the upper chest to the mid-front of the jersey.
The kit’s sleeve and shoulders are red and contrast with its black collar and sleeve cuffs. The back of the shirt is all white with the text “DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA” printed on its signoff area in recognition of DC United’s standing as the district’s only soccer team with “D.C” in its name.
DC United further celebrates their hometown via a jocktag patterned after the district’s number plate design. “TAXTATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION” is printed below the tag to celebrate DC’s resident. Lastly, “D.C. United” is embroidered on the right sleeve cuff of the kit beneath a DC United colored Major League Soccer badge.
