Mexico defeated Jamaica 3-1 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Sunday evening to claim their seventh CONCACAF Gold Cup title.

Andres Guardado, Jesus Corona and Oribe Peralta put El Tri 3-0 up by the 61st minute to all but seal the title for the regional powerhouse. Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks scored a fine consolation goal for the Reggae Boyz in the 80th.

The 2015 Gold Cup title sets up playoff meeting with 2014 champions USA on October 9th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA for a spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. T

Jamaica’s run to the title game saw them become the first Caribbean nation to advance to the final.
