Athletic Bilbao 2015/16 Nike Away Kit

Spanish La Liga stalwarts Athletic Bilbao have released their 2015/16 Nike away kit for their upcoming domestic and UEFA Europa League seasons. It will be on sale at World Soccer Shop, UK Soccer Shop, Subside Sports and Kitbag along with the Basque team’s new home uniform.

According to Nike: Athletic Club de Bilbao’s earliest kits featured a shirt with blue and white halves. This season the club, which was founded in 1898, will wear a new away kit that pays tribute to this design and the club’s origins.

The 2015-16 away kit includes a two-tone — black and dark grey — shirt. Inverse shoulders and red trim on the collar and cuffs augment the design.

Additionally, the shirt’s back neck features a small Ikurriña, Basque flag. This detail reflects Athletic Club de Bilbao’s roots and unique cultural identity. The new away socks are red with a black band at the top and a tonal stripe of chevrons on the calf.

Seventh placed finishers in La Liga last season, Athletic Bilbao return to competitive action on July 30th when they meet Azerbaijan club Inter Baku in the Third Qualifying Round of the Europa League.
